The last few weeks have been a crazy combination of Christmas bazaars, Holiday Markets, pre-Christmas orders for German cinnamon roasted almonds and a big holiday. My daughter flew out from Chicago to help me through it and now the holiday is past, she has returned home and the dust is starting to settle. My little tree went up yesterday and I’m ready to organize my holiday baking. We are creatures of habit and I have made the same list of Christmas cookies forever, but this year I want to try some new ones in the huge stack that has accumulated on my desk. First on the list is homemade marshmallows dipped in homemade caramel sauce. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. I’ll post it in the next few days. In the meantime I want to share a few of my family’s favorite Christmas cookie recipes starting with these little Christmas Tree Shortbread Cookies. These are all tried and true and we love them. Happy Baking!
Cathy, you are the queen and the authority to whom I rely on for Christmas cookies. I would be thrilled to have any of these on my cookie tray.

Well, THAT was a tempting trip down memory lane!! YUM!
I don’t remember seeing that lemon recipe before. Will check it out next.
I just ordered a ‘tart tamper’ from this guy on youtube who makes them on his lathe. They have a little ridge around the top of them that stops the dough from going too high & it makes perfect little tarts every time. It should arrive next week & I’ll have pecan tassies coming out my ears by the weekend.

Thanks for sharing your past yummies!!!

Hi Rett – Thanks for sharing the link to the person who makes the tart tamper. That is so much better than the one I have been using for ages. We love those little tassies and no matter how many I make we always gobble them up. Thanks for your comment.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving, Madonna. I hope you did as well. I have to admit when I have homemade cookies in the house I have a hard time leaving them alone.

All of those look good! I need to make a few for the hubby. His favorite is chocolate chip. They are safe from me cause I hate CC cookies!
