Bacon Lettuce & Tomato Sandwich

homemade crusty bread, mayo, thick cut smoky applewood bacon, sliced vine-ripened tomato and crispy lettuce

    There isn’t a better sandwich! We eat our fill during the summer because only summer tomatoes are worthy of the sandwich!

    That was my mom’s favorite sandwich..:)I still remember and she has been gone 40 yrs~
    When I was a little girl..we would sometimes go shopping and stop at the Woolworth’s diner area:) On those stools..and that was what she would order..a slim beautiful woman..so elegant..w/ her BLT:)

    Well.. all my tomatoes.. will be market bought as I had 6 varieties growing beautifully..and one morning we got up..and lo and behold..someone had taken them all..Too late now!Something.. Crows? Squirrels?

    Oh yeah, a BLT is the way to go with fresh summer tomatoes. And homemade bread makes it doubly good!

    I, too, am a longtime Oregonian and love your blog. Found it through Gollum…
    I can’t wait for my own tomatoes to ripen! My husband and I make a toasted tomato sandwich with Best Foods mayo and salt and pepper and then we stand over the sink to eat them! I’ll have to come say hello at the Beaverton Farmer’s Market.. Cheers!
