Favorite Summer Salad Dressings and Sauces

My weekly menus in the summertime include many more salads than they did just a few weeks ago.  I have my go-to list that I prepare over and over during the warm weeks of July, August and September that I want to share with you.   All these salads are easy to put together and make a complete meal when served with crusty bread and a light dessert.  I’m all for taking life a little easy when the weather gets hot.  I have posted these recipes in the past and hope that if you haven’t prepared them  you will try them now.   Most of the ingredients can be found in your local farmers’ market.   The two sauces at the end of the post are particular family favorites.

GREEN GODDESS SALAD DRESSING

DUNGENESS CRAB LOUIE SALAD DRESSING

SMOKED SALMON AND ASPARAGUS SALAD WITH LEMON POPPY SEED DRESSING

BUTTERNUT SQUASH SALAD WITH WARM CIDER VINAIGRETTE

STONEGABLE’S CAESAR SALAD DRESSING

STRAWBERRY ORANGE, AVOCADO SALAD WITH CITRUS VINAIGRETTE

CRAB CAKE BURGER WITH HOMEMADE TARTAR SAUCE

ASPARAGUS WITH HOLLANDAISE SAUCE

I haven’t enjoyed a good Green Goddess dressing, since my Uncle sold his restaurant. He made the BEST Green Goddess dressing, and I keep meaning to try making it for myself. I absolutely adore tarragon. In fact, my backyard is loaded with it. This is the push I needed, Cathy. Since you love this recipe, I can be assured I will too.
PS: I enjoyed some lemon custard ice cream last night. I thought of you. :)

I’ll take some of ALL of them! I have butternut on the counter. I think hubby picked them too soon. Oh well, am going to try roasting them like your recipe tonight.

I could exist on these recipes alone Cathy. No more cookbooks, no more testing recipes, no more “so so” dishes. Sounds like a very simple and lovely way of life to me.
