Daydreaming of Paris on Mosaic Monday

by Cathy on February 15, 2010

This time last year I was planning my trip to Paris.  The excitement of preparing for an adventure and learning everything I can about my destination is part of the joy of the journey. I don’t have that pleasure this year and instead will spend happy time learning a new baking skill.
Tasting the macarons at Laduree on the Champ-Elysees is something I will never forget, and I’m determined to practice making these little bits of heaven until I get them just right.  I’ve done my research and am ready to begin. Wish me luck.
I’m participating this week in Mary’s Mosaic Monday at Little Red House.  I hope you will stop by and visit all the participants in this week’s event.  Thanks Mary.

Good luck with the macarons! I haven't gotten the courage to try them yet but hope too one day. They are getting to be the new 'cupcake' as far as dessert fads go from what I have read.

Porch Days February 24, 2010 at 3:21 pm

I have become a follower and put you on my blog list on Porch Days. Even if I don't try the recipes I can read about them. My husband has always wanted to live in the Willamette Valley, even though we have never been there. Many years ago I visited Germany and loved it. Great food. I would like to know more about the nuts you roast.

Oh how wonderful! I would love to visit Paris someday! Thanks for sharing at MM. :)

once you have been smitten by the Parisian kitten…your heart purrs and yearns to go back, doesn't it?

Paris and Laduree are the very best. Such memories! I missed going to Laduree last fall, but the next time I will for sure be there. Love your hand painted cookies too. I once took a class in painting cookies, but haven't continued doing it.

I agree with you – planning and dreaming of adventures are part of the fun. The great thing is when the real thing lives up to the expectation.

My daughter lived there for 7 years so I got to know Paris well. I love it there.
Can't wait to see how you do with the macarons. I haven't had the courage to try!

Cathy, dreams work also. Last year we dreamed, this year it will be a reality. I am anxiously awaiting the results of your baking experiment.

Wishing you luck! I SO wish I had gone to Paris when my Mom and I visited Italy a few years ago. My Mom and Dad have been a couple times, and they loved it. I hope to get to go one day to see it for myself.
